New works for Feb

I applied for the March Crafternoon Tea today. Should hopefully get a place- I managed to get one for the previous two. It's been great for me- It's forced me to take new and challenging directions in my work, to shake things up a bit, to re- inspire my passion for jewellery!

I've been obsessed with cameos and cabochons for the past few months, to the point that I'm almost bored with beading now! Or perhaps because I was becoming bored with beading. Now I have sussed out the best adhesives to use so there's no problems with accessory malfunction for the wearer, I'm forging ahead with lots of ideas!

I bought some clear glass cabochons from etsy (which is a wonderland of vintage and new supplies and inspiration) and applied them to a few different paper items- origami paper, patterned writing paper, interesting stamps. I was disheartened when the first batch didn't stick, so I abandoned them for a couple weeks. This week I tried again with a different adhesive and- success! So now it's trimming the paper to shape and popping my cabs in the right settings. Fun!

Welcome all!

Hi! I thought I had better have my own blog, in addition to my Facebook page for Ataahua Jewellery, seeing as it seems to work well for a lot of other craftspeople in promoting their work and letting people see a bit of the creative process. So here I am!
